Were that fixing the problem be this easy.

Noto37 gives people a valid and easy outlet for venting their frustration and rage. It’s a first step. We also need to learn about the problem and demand that our legislators stop worrying about getting re-elected and enact realistic tax and budget reform.

The Illinois school funding crisis has reached a critical point – CPS schools, including Stone, are STILL waiting to hear what will be cut and how much. At issue may be loss of magnet funding (staff positions), full-day kindergarten, pre-school and more. It is time to bring our outrage, and our voice for change, to those who need to hear it most. This Wednesday, April 21st, parents and students from many area schools will meet downtown to rally on Report Card Pick Up Day and give the state an “F” for school funding. The rally will be held from 9-10:30 am (there is no school that day) at the James Thompson Center (State of Illinois Building), 100 W. Randolph.

Media have been invited and we need a large turnout of children and parents, waving signs, banners and making ourselves heard. Please families from Stone, Burley, Lincoln, Franklin Fine Arts, Nettlehorst, Agassiz, Disney, Ravenswood, Waters, and more.
Come to the Rally – Bring Kids! Friends! Neighbors! Forward this announcement on to anyone interested in a healthy future for our state and city!

Avoid traffic and parking by taking CTA – there is a station located right at the State of Illinois building. Rally starts at 9 and ends by 10:30, allowing plenty of time to get to school parent/teacher conferences that day.

Just as an FYI, Ted Ganchiff from Nettlehorst spearheaded the effort to get this site conceptualized and built. Many others from the Friends of groups around the north side contributed input and are spreading the word. It’s definitely one step toward trying to fix a really big problem….
